JT-02 x OP Hybrid Persimmon Tree

Description

These trees are grown from open pollinated seeds that come from the orchards of Cliff England.

The parent tree is a JT-02  hybrid persimmon originating in Japan (parent tree Mikkusu) and then cultivated and shared by Jerry Lehman.

JT-02 is recognized as an exceptional cold hardy hybrid that will grow in zones 5 to 9. These open pollinated seedlings are likely to have the similar traits.

Mature height estimated 20-30ft.

Each tree will be a unique hybrid. JT-02 is of special interest to persimmon breeders because of the complex genetics and potential for new non astringent varieties.
